After the success of the first School Idol Festival, the girls of Nijigasaki High quickly move to put on its second iteration, but the sudden appearance of Zhong Lanzhu throws everything up in the air. Faced with an upstart rival who denies everything their club stands for, the girls are going to have to take their battle to the stage if they want to get Lanzhu to join them!

Love Live! returns with an all-new generation! Despite loving to sing, Kanon Shibuya struggles to perform in front of others and has given up on her dream of being a singer. Yet after bumping into idol enthusiast Keke Tang she might have another chance. Facing down stern student council president Ren Hazuki, the pair have to win an idol contest for Keke to form the school idol club, but with so little time and experience will they be able to make it, or will their idol dreams be dashed forever?

Focusing on Yu and the club’s 9 idols, the series follows them as they try to overcome their differences and reform the club, making both friends and rivals along the way.

While Love Live! Sunshine!!’s second season wrapped up quite conclusively, Sunrise brings the girls of Aqours back for one more outing in this flawed but highly entertaining epilogue.
